If you're excited to discover the world of coffee tasting but unsure where to start, this is the course for you. The course delivery is designed to make sensory skills approachable, easy to understand and fun! You’ll finish feeling more confident and knowledgeable about coffee.
 
If you’re completely new to coffee tasting, this SCA Sensory Skills Foundation course is a perfect starting point. It’s designed for total beginners, so no prior experience with coffee sensory is needed!
 
We will spend 1.5 days together, where I will introduce you to the basics of sensory science, helping you understand the flavors and aromas in coffee from the ground up. You’ll get hands-on practice with tasting, using simple but effective techniques to identify what makes each coffee unique. 
 
This course is all about building your confidence in evaluating coffee, even if you’ve never done it before. We’ll guide you step by step through the process, so by the end of the course, you’ll feel comfortable describing coffee’s flavors and applying these skills in everyday work, or just simply to chill to enjoy your cup of coffee at home.

1. Understanding how our sensory phsiology. 
You’ll explore how we taste and smell coffee, and how to recognize different flavors.
2. Basic coffee tasting skills.
We’ll walk you through simple ways to taste coffee and notice its unique characteristics.
3. Sensory training.
You’ll develop your tasting skills through awareness of your senses and identifying various types of coffee flavour profiles. 
4. Practical applications.
Learn how to use your new sensory knowledge for fun or even to enhance business opportunities in coffee.
